Vietnam - Finland International School Retains Recognition as a “Finnish-Oriented School”

Vietnam-Finland International School (VFIS), under Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), has just continued to be recognized by the Finnish National Agency for Education (EDUFI) as a “Finnish-Oriented School”.

Notably, according to information from EDUFI, to date, VFIS is one of only three schools outside of Finnish territory to be recognized by this agency and permitted to use the title “Finnish-Oriented School”.

According to EDUFI’s assessment, VFIS has clearly demonstrated the core values of Finnish education through its educational philosophy, study program, teaching methods, learning environment, assessment practices, and holistic development orientation for students. The school has successfully built an advanced educational environment where students are encouraged to develop independent thinking, creativity, collaboration skills, a sense of responsibility, and lifelong learning capabilities.

Being recognized as a “Finnish-Oriented School” means that VFIS meets the strict standards of the Finnish National Agency for Education in integrating Finnish educational principles into school management and operational practices, while also being officially permitted to use this title within the international education system.

Sharing about the event, Ms. Miekk-Oja Suvi Kristiina, Head of School, stated: “Being recognized as a Finnish-Oriented Schoolby the Finnish National Agency for Education is a source of great pride for the entire VFIS community. This is not only a recognition of the school collectives relentless efforts over the past years but also a testament to the correctness of the educational model that we steadfastly pursue. VFIS believes that education should not only aim for academic achievements but must also nurture the happiness, character, competence, and sense of responsibility of students. These are also the very core values that Finnish education always promotes, and VFIS is committed to continuing to foster them in the coming years”.

The recognition from the Finnish National Agency for Education is a milestone of special significance for VFIS, affirming the School’s persistent efforts in implementing the Finnish educational model in Vietnam.

Simultaneously, this is also a testament to the strategic vision of Ton Duc Thang University in pioneering the adoption, development, and dissemination of advanced global educational values, contributing to enriching the national educational ecosystem and training a generation of global citizens to meet the country’s development needs in the new era.
