Ton Duc Thang University Organizes the 4th International Conference on Innovations in the Social Sciences and Humanities

On June 11-12, 2026, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) organized The 4th International Conference on Innovations in the Social Sciences and Humanities 2026 (ISSH 2026).

The conference was co-organized by TDTU in collaboration with a number of prestigious universities, research institutes, and international academic networks, including the The University of Melbourne (Australia), National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (Taiwan), Jadavpur University (India), Wako University (Japan), Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine (Sri Lanka), Nueva Vizcaya State University (the Philippines), Oakton College (the United States), the Centre for Research in Policy, Media and Society (India), and the TARN-Transit Asia Research Network (Taiwan).

A key highlight of ISSH 2026 was its theme, “The Social in the Digital”, which reflects growing concern over the impact of technology and digital transformation on social life. In a context where digital environments are profoundly changing the ways people connect, interact, and organize socio-economic activities, many issues relating to communities, identities, social relationships, and the mechanisms through which modern societies operate are posing new demands for scientific research.

The conference attracted numerous international scholars from a wide range of disciplines, including sociology, anthropology, tourism, social work, public administration, film studies, environmental studies, and related fields. Speakers came from various countries and territories, including the United States, Germany, China, Sri Lanka, India, Australia, Canada, Taiwan, the Philippines, and Indonesia, together with more than 20 leading Vietnamese scholars.

Through thematic discussion sessions, researchers focused on analyzing social transformations in the digital age while highlighting the role of the social sciences and humanities in identifying, explaining, and critically examining emerging development trends.

Building on the success of its previous three editions, the 4th ISSH Conference further affirmed its position as a prestigious academic forum in the field of social sciences and humanities. Through the conference, TDTU continues to strengthen its role as a bridge connecting international academic networks, thereby contributing to the advancement of research, collaboration, and knowledge development in the context of globalization and digital transformation.
